I have visited this restaurant several times and it has always been impressive. I was hesitant about yet another fish and chip restaurant in Lindsay but this one is by far the best, and I'm picky!
I have both dined in and ordered take out - it is simply the best/freshest fish I have had in a long time anywhere in the area.
Definitely continue to go there and refer others. I don't know what the first bad poster was talking about, as far as I know they didn't even serve Rice pudding.
We moved from nearby the country into Lindsay recently and this is our third visit to this busy restaurant. They serve the best fish & chips in the Kawarthas - halibut fillets are cooked to perfection and served with crisp full-sized french fries (no little bits of ends here). The platter also had onion rings, scallops, shrimps and a fresh garden salad. All prices are reasonable and the food is plentiful. Where can you find a meal with 1 halibut fillet & an order of chips for $6.10?. If you are a fish & chip fan you won't find any that are better than at the Captains!.
I would have to highly dissagree with Marsha. This restaurant is amazing. The service is wonderful, as well as the employees. I eat here once a week and the food is fantastic. Fresh hot and ready within minutes even at peak hour. Everybody is very clean there. I see employees constanly washing there. 10/10. The best fish and chips in town.
