The food was pretty good...but it isn't that inexpensive. Our 1/2 litre of wine - really good Cab Sauv suggested by our quite competent waiter -was $24.95! Threw us a bit...but our fault as we didn't check the price first :) Pretty nice wine, though. We each had the soup of the day which was very good and came with garlic toast plus we split the nachos which were good as well. I have no complaints...We sat in the bar and the waiter/bartender provided excellent service. I was actually surprised that it was so good...LOL....
It is pretty good as for american sports bar type family restaurant. Great variety of food, especially for the pizzas. Average $25-$30 for a large pizza but worth it, toppings are plentiful and fresh. The atmosphere in dining room is great for families with kids, they provide crayons and books for colouring. The sports bar section is your typical with sports paraphernia and tv screens. Tend to be really busy on weekend evenings, but lunches are usually good time. Overall you can't go wrong.
We went for an early evening dinner on February 17 - I had ribs, my wife had a mushroom/swiss burger. The food wasn't bad, but nothing special relative to all the other corporate franchise roadhouses in the market. Portions are really skimpy though. I was served a 'full' rack of ribs that probably didn't amount to more than half a pound ($24), and come on: given the healthy margins on such things as fries and salad, they could at least let you feel that you're getting some value for your money. BUT, in the end, the thing that slayed me was seeing this on my bill: "SM SAUCE, mayo 0.99" Being charged a buck for mayo? Isn't this a condiment? I can't wait for the day that I have to pay for ketchup. Jeesh...... I expressed the same to the waitress, and she said "I know - that's not as bad as us charging $2 for sour cream". They got their pound of flesh out of me that evening, but they shouldn't expect a return visit.
Boston pizza has a slight Italian decor to it but is not quite. Their team pitchers are pretty fun to get, having a giant pitcher of beer in front of you. The service was prompt and always served us very quickly. We were served our food very quickly. The Pulled pork sandwich had much to desire though. Not enough pork was in the sandwich, and the bun was very white kind of bread. I was expecting a little better bun than what I received. Also the side salad I got instead of fries was quite small compared to the heaping amount of fries they give you. Their pizzas are pretty good though. It was an ok place, but I felt it was too much of a North American cookie cutter restaurant. No definable theme to the restaurant kind of left a unmemorable experience.
