Best fish and chips place in town. This place hasn't changed much over the years. Simple decor with a Scottish theme. Haggis was good, although this is the only place I've ever had haggis so it's hard for me to compare. They seem to slice up pre-cooked sausages with haggis filling and then deep fry it. Tastes better than it sounds. Haddock was as good as usual. Tried to order the mushy peas, but apparently their supplier can't deliver this product to them any more. They hand out packets of tartar sauce - something they should really prepare fresh in the kitchen. Although we didn't get tea, they serve tea properly - in a large teapot at the table.

Halibut was one of the best I have ever had...

Halibut was one of the best I have ever had. (10). The chips were quite good, not great. I didn't like their mushy peas, very watery, no flavour.

Best fish & chips around. In fact, I travel...

Best fish & chips around. In fact, I travel frequently to England on business, and usually we go to the Thistle before I leave as I know the fish & chips are better here than in England. Sometimes you wait a bit for a table but not long and it's definitely worth the small wait. Service is brisk,and the seasoned servers get it right. This is our favourite "Good Food Fast" restaurant.

It was absolutly glorious! Just as I remember from my childhood. Great memories, Great desert tray, Great staff, and just like Great Britain. Go make a lasting memory for yourself! *God save the Queen
