"A unique aspect of our business is that we are an Aveda concept salon," says Pam Volkmann, manager of Salon Montage & Day Lounge. Both Pam and salon owner Lisa Esposito are proud of this distinction, which means that Aveda hair and beauty products are used in the salon and made available for retail.
The salon has been open since the early 1990s and boasts locations in both Langley and South Surrey. According to Pam, Lisa's vision for opening the salons was to provide five-star service to clients looking for experienced and dedicated hair stylists without the need to travel to downtown Vancouver.
"All our stylists have advanced Aveda training," explains Pam. "This may have been provided by the Aveda company or by the apprenticeship program that we have implemented." Lisa and Pam are adamant that before interacting with clients, stylists must have completed the training and have proven client service skills.
"We are very particular who we allow to work with clients," says Pam. "We want to offer great service, both in terms of quality hair styling and client experience."
