Ginko was the first Japanese restaurant my boyfriend took me to before we started dating. I was quite skeptical upon first glance, since they're located by the airport and inside a hotel. Once inside and seated in a comfortable booth, and eating, my opinion of this establishment quickly changed. Not only does this restaurant make you feel like you've literally stepped into Tokyo (as evidenced by the traditional booths, decor and Japanese waitresses serving you in Yukatas), the food will surpass your expectations. My boyfriend was in charge of ordering, and he ordered us assorted sushi and sashimi on a boat. We were met with excellent service, and I must say--the quality of the fish and dining experience will have us be returning again soon. Lire plus

I got here for lunch often because it is close to my work. Prior to that my boyfriend took me a few times too, since he lives nearby and loves the place. I'm quite surprised at some of the reviews here though. I love the place! I feel very welcomed, the service is good, and the atmosphere is quite nice. I've never been disappointed with their food, and find the quality much better than some restaurants. That said, I would note that I find them to be a bit pricey. So overall, it's a great place! Went for lunch at Sushi Ginza due to the great ratings on here. I am glad I went. The place was not busy at all and my friend and I got a table quickly. I had the sashimi salad lunch special and my friend had the Sushi Roll lunch special. Each special came with tempera chips, 2 pieces of calamari, 2 pieces of salmon type roll, a potato croquette, and fruits. I also ordered the torpedo roll (smoke salmon, tempera shrimp, tataki tuna) which is really delicious name maybe right. The sashimi salad was really yummy. Big portion all around. They don't cheap out on anything. The total was around $34. A pretty good deal for all the food we had. Love this oriental food Lire plus

The food was really good and the staff was really friendly too! I've probably been here 3 or 4 times now. I keep coming back because the service is so good! Not to mention the food is fantastic (the complimentary crunchy soup is to die for). The last time I went, my table got the spider roll, seaweed salad, green dragon roll, spicy salmon roll, and some other roll (I can't remember the name). They were delicious! All was served in a sequential manner; we were served complimentary soup immediately as we sat down, then we ordered, after which we were served complimentary green salad while we waited for our rolls. We were never without food! With all that's included with the rolls, the value is really great. Although it's not too impressive from the outside, the inside is pretty good. It's not fancy, but very laid back. I took my grandmother here for her first sushi experience, and she loved it. I had such good service today, that I had to give these guys some publicity! I always thought that the area needed a sushi place, as in the area of Bathurst/Finch and Bathurst/Sheppard there were no sushi places. In fact, the nearest sushi place was located on Yonge St. My family had the AYCE dinner (the dinner is 18.95 from Monday to Thursday and 20.95 for Friday and the Weekend). The sushi quality was really good, and I noticed that many of the other clients chose to order the sushi using the regular menu (the non AYCE option). In addition, The Sashimi slices were really big and very fresh. I also liked the environment of the Restaurant, and found the costumer service to be very good. My spouse and I are here 2 to 3 times a week. That's how much we love Sapporo. We always order the same thing (salmon bento). Salmon Sashimi is always fresh, the spicy handrolls are spicy and very good. The eel sushi is excellent. Do not expect fast service especially during dinner time, or Friday/Saturday. The place is small and there is always a lineup. But the food is worth the wait. We would visit over and over again. Too bad they're closed on Mondays. :( Lire plus

I lived in Greece for 4 years and good gyro is what i really missed from the food. Once i moved to Canada everyone had their idea and place for a good Gyro...to be honest none came even close....Gyros Place in Mississauga on Matheson BLVD though is amazing....I can only say OMG so good...Had chicken gyro and pork one and both were 90% authentic which is in my book practical the same! We had chef's special sushi and sashimi plate, caterpillar roll, bibimbab. Everything was fresh, nicely presented. I had thick and fresh cuts of tuna, yellow tail, unagi, and even ikura sushi in the sushi plate, it was a nice selection of nigiri sushi. Caterpillar roll was bigger than I thought, and it came with miso soup and salad. One of my Japanese friend ordered bibimbab, and I didn't know it is served in the heated stone pot, it was very unique. The pot was still hot until we finish our meal! We spend around $60 for 3, considering it was dinner time, I guess it's reasonable price. Also we were seated in Tatami room which was very nice. It seems great for small party around 6 people. Growing up in Georgetown, Sushi wasn't exactly a mainstay in town. After moving back and finding more than one Sushi place in town, it was clear the town was changing and catching up to the rest of the world. Still...Sushi in Georgetown? I was skeptical... Walking into Yo-Yo's, it was like I had completely stepped out of town into another world. Nothing like I had expected. The service and atmosphere alone make this place worth visiting. Is it the best Sushi I've ever had? No...in fact, the other place in town is actually tastier (and all you can eat), but lacks the same charm that Yo-Yo's has. It's a little pricey, but worth it!
