Have eaten at this delightful and very special historic inn in the Village of Grafton, at Ext. #487, off Highway 401, just east of Cobourg, Ontario, many times before and have always had wonderful meals and great service--no complaints ever! However, Friday, May 27, was a different story. Our party was promptly seated at a well set table in the main dining room and there was 1 other table of women in the room and a couple of diners in another room across the hall, so the place was not packed. There appeared to be 2 servers on duty at lunch. The food was impeccable and arrived promptly which was not the problem. The meal was spoiled by the surly, terse, unsmiling and unenthusiastic personality of our female server. Our group was quiet and undemanding so all 6 women mentioned how miserable our server was throughout the entire dining experience. It is a shame that one dysfunctional staff member can cast a pall over an entire dining experience which should have been a happy one. We left adequate tips, however, but feel the management of this delightful treasure of an inn is not being well-served by a staff member who is obviously unhappy with her job and seems to take it out on the customers. We would go back but next time we would ask for another server if this miserable lady were on duty again. Obviously some re-training of staff is needed here or perhaps, termination. This lady really needs to 're-think' her choice of employment at such a wonderful inn as this!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is doing a real 'dis-service' to her employer/s who pay her salary. Let's hope this was an 'off' day and not a sign of things to come. The owners deserve better than this from staff. Lire plus

Very happy with the service from Pro Electric. I called to have a electric baseboard heater installed in a cold zone in our home and they had someone out to quote the job the next day. While not a huge job, they took the time to walk me through some options and suggested a heater for the area. They booked a time and were here and done within two weeks. We live out of the area and normally don't eat at ESM's as we have been bitterly disappointed in the past. Not so at this location! Our experience here put this restaurant back on our radar! Great service, friendly staff (ask for Holly, she's lovely) and the kids were well looked after. Not to mention the ice-cold beer and fresh and tasty food. Serenity Bed And Breakfast was an oasis in the storm for me I arrived in Brighton on a very hot day in July after a long week of business meetings and a long day on the road and the first two B and B's I went to were not air conditioned but then I found Serenity! It was air conditioned and had beautiful decor featuring famous Canadian artists, large comfortable rooms, a huge TV for my evenings entertainment, friendly hosts and most importantly as I found out the next morning fabulous food!
