Ginza Sushi Restaurant

I have been going here for over 10 years. I order here a lot and enjoy the food. The staff are never friendly, and always lazy. The restaurant is a dump too. However I liked ordering in from there. As of today I am absolutely never returning or ordering again and will go out of my way to inform others of the awful experience I had today. On the site currently they have a platter deal. Great oriental food

Went for lunch at Sushi Ginza due to the great ratings on here. I am glad I went. The place was not busy at all and my friend and I got a table quickly. I had the sashimi salad lunch special and my friend had the Sushi Roll lunch special. Each special came with tempera chips, 2 pieces of calamari, 2 pieces of salmon type roll, a potato croquette, and fruits. I also ordered the torpedo roll (smoke salmon, tempera shrimp, tataki tuna) which is really delicious name maybe right. The sashimi salad was really yummy. Big portion all around. They don't cheap out on anything. The total was around $34. A pretty good deal for all the food we had. Love this oriental food

Poor Service

Poor Service...slow, confused orders, half of the orders arrivesd, rest we had to ask for repeatedly. Food was good but our bill came with items we did not have. Would not go back!

So, heard a lot of Ginza. Kept getting flyers at home. I live around the corner. Decided to try it. Had the all you can eat. WORST SERVICE EVER. I know that in All you can eat places the servers tend to ignore you. But not only did they ignore you. More than HALF the things we asked for never came. Every time we selected things one or two items would come but the rest were forgotten and ignored. The sushi was not that good either. very mushy and the rice was falling off. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

great sushi in toronto I am told

Heard great things about this place from my friends, supposedly big with young ladies and popular with university age young ladies, but I really wasn't a fan. I'm from Toronto, and there are a ton of restos there that serve great canadian food for less price. The chick I was with loved it and noticed that the sushi was fresh, I give them that, and service was fast at least......hence the 3 star. But couldnt help wonder if oriental people are so thin because there is so little food. I am still a steak and bbq man

sashimi lunch special inadequate

So I gave Ginza another try and returned for lunch during a weekday. Although I arrived a little after noon, the restaurant wasn't overly busy. In fact, they didn't become very busy until after 2pm. So I was able to enjoy my lunch in a quiet, leisurely fashion. The service was attentive but not overly so. I always had refills on my tea and the servers were friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, the lunch was less than adequate. I ordered the sashimi with rice lunch special. The dish came with six slices of sashimi: 1 surf clam, 2 tuna and 3 pieces of salmon. I suppose I shouldn't expect much more than that for under $7. However, the slices of fish were small and poorly cut. Either the sushi chef preparing lunch that day was inexperienced or just lazy/sloppy. In addition, the amount of rice given was disproportionate to the amount of fish served. After finishing the sashimi, I had eaten less than half the rice and was still hungry! As a result, I ordered an additional dish - pork cutlet with curry sauce a la carte. I ate this with the rest of the rice. It was a slightly odd combination. The rice was cold and properly seasoned with vinegar, as it should be for sashimi; it isn't meant to be eaten with hot food like the pork cutlet. It was my own choice to eat the food this way. But I felt it would be a waste of food if I didn't eat more of the rice and no one asks for a doggy bag for plain rice! The pork cutlet was tasty but I prefer to have the excess fat from the cutlet trimmed. Although much of my experience at Ginza was positive, if the decision is up to me, I won't be returning on my own. I think being less than completely satisfied on more than one occasion is enough for me.

Best Sushi for GREAT PRICE

Everything is incredibly fresh, and they have the most unique selection of rolls i have seen. I personally prefer the salmon ginger roll because it has no carbs, and it is the most tasty thing i have ever had in my life!

The sushi and shashimi really tastes great here. It is fresh and tastes exquisite. The prices are reasonable as well. I have gone there thrice within a 4 month period and look for any excuse to go there. It is really busy on weekday evenings and weekends. Worth the wait though....if you have to. The interior is very nice and resembles an upscale restaurant in the burbs! If you like sushi and want it at a reasonable price, this is the place to go to!

Excellent sushi, one of my favourite places to eat in this area! Can get pretty busy during dinner times. I'll definitely keep coming back to this place.

Lazy servers

The food here was not memorable at all, I can barely remember which sushi rolls we had. All I can remember is the slow service we received. When I went to the bathroom, I noticed that our server was laying down (sleeping I assume) in one of the private rooms near the bathroom.

I haven't been here in awhile because of personal reasons. Boy was I surprised at what a beautiful job Alice and her husband did renovating and enlarging the place to accommodate the large volume of people that frequently come back for more great sushi! Food was and is always great here! I can only wish them great success since they deserve it and truly know how to run a restaurant!

I read the reviews before I ordered, and figured I'd give this place a chance since it's the only sushi house that will deliver to my area. I see where the "freshness" complaints come in. The tuna sashimi wasn't fresh (it was more purple than red). It had that FISH taste, and sushi/sashimi is suppose to be creamy. That was so unpleasant that we didn't finish it. The Maki rolls were...just O.K. Nothing special. I eat sushi all the time, and I visit some of the best spots in Toronto, and I didn't think this place was good by any standard. Maybe it has good japanese dishes...but the quality in sushi preparation wasn't there. I couldn't tell the difference between the "kamakachi roll" and the spicy tuna roll. And to tell you the truth, I think it was a spicy SALMON roll. No real distinctive flavour - but this time more bland than bad fish taste. I ordered in, and the delivery was quick. I'll give them that. I requested extra wasabi, and they came through. The wasabi was hot, and mind blowing...so, that was a plus! Would I order again ... ? Probably not. When you crave sushi, "o.k" just doesn't cut it. But, there's no other delivery where I live..sooooo they might get my business by default ;)

Amazing sushi, very fresh and tasty! Salmon sashimi pieces are huge and melt in your mouth. Very reasonable prices. Bento box for lunch is a great deal - they even include a scoop of ice cream with it all for $8! I'll definitely be coming back again soon.

DO NOT GO! I truly believe, that whoever writes good review about this awful place is ether friends of the owner or were asked to do so. Smelly chicken AND beef! Awfully obvious not fresh, but guess what, there is no one in charge to talk to. Waitresses hardly speak English, but manage to be rude. No exchange for different meal! No discount! ... and obviously NEVER AGAIN. Just think about it. If meat cooked is bad, what about fish? No one in charge - what else is going on in that kitchen...?
