This clinic has been wonderful to me and my pets. Dr Mitelman is the best. He is patient and kind he has always taken excellent care of all my pets who have lived long into their late teens! $142 +HST for a 5 minute appointment to see a $10 budgie who has Mites (brought home by contact from a chicken on a farm) which requires a drug which does NOT require a rx in Canada for livestock, like: guinnea pigs, chinchillas, pigeons and chickens. Unfortunately, this clinic's basic exam is simply far to expensive to consider.

The world is a better place for animals because Dr. Jonathon Mitelman is in it. What a caring, knowledgeable veterinarian and the rest of the staff is great too. My little dog is alive solely due to their trauma care and follow-up over the past 6 years.

The Case of the Basset w/ the Crushed Spinal Cord

Accurate diagnosis. Effective treatment. Professional and attentive care. These are the things one seeks in a veterinary hospital, especially when their pet is seriously ill. When our basset hound began having difficulty walking, we knew we needed to get her to a veterinary clinic immediately and decided to take her to the Kingston Road Animal Hospital. Dr. Mitelman immediately made our dog (and us) a priority—taking an inordinate amount of time to educate us about what was happening with her and counsel us about our options for treatment. We cannot thank them enough for their dedication, patience and diligence. We want to express our gratitude to Dr. Mitelman, in particular, for making himself available to us 24-hours a day.

I can not say enough good things about this clinic and all of the team there. I initially called KRAH as a new client to set up an appointment first thing in the morning as my cat had suddenly stopped eating and had quickly and noticeably become unwell. After briefly describing her symptoms, I was immediately put through to Dr. Mitelman. After a few more questions he urged me to not wait until the morning and to bring her in right away (it was about 8pm). Upon being examined, she was quickly diagnosed as having severely enlarged kidneys and was admitted for further testing and it became clear to me how serious her situation was. Throughout the next 3 days while she stayed at the clinic, the team at KRAH was phenomenal. I received daily phone calls with updates and I was able to visit any time that was convenient for me (as they operate 24/7 as an emergency clinic in addition to being a regular clinic). During my visits, one of the vets always popped in to speak with me and see if I had any questions and although I primarily dealt with Dr.Mitelman, they were a were all knowledgeable about her condition and extremely comforting during a difficult time. Now, 2 months later I still feel blessed every day that she is with me and I know it is because of the fast response, dedication, experience and compassion from everyone at this clinic. I will continue to take my cat and all future pets to this clinic and would recommend both their regular and emergency services without hesitation.

I recenty took Callie to Kingston Road Animal Hospital to be treated for Hives....or a allergic reaction to something. After treatment and care it turned out that whatever caused her issues was a little more serious than thought. It was the dedication and care from the team at Kingston Road Animal Hospital that helped not only Callie get better, but they also helped me get through a week of uncertanty and fear. Although we might never know what caused this reaction, we do beleive it to be allergic and I am still working with the Doctors there to monitor her and make sure she continues to improve. I cannot express how their kindness caring for both the animals and the owners helped me through this trama one week before Christmas. I will continue to use this Vet for my pets care from now on.

Groucho the SuperDogg is Super again!

It was 9pm. While Groucho was playing in the school yard, off leash, he took off on me and decided to attack an Akita. He is a Lhasa CockerSpaniel Pooh Mix. He lived, but needed an Addominal Hernia operation. We made a good choice & went to the Kingston Animal Road Hospital. Dr. Arif Meman was the first to look at Groucho. He was very knowledgable, gentle, professional, realistic & caring. Dr. Jon Mitelman is an expert in this kind of operation. The operation was performed successfully the next day and pictures of the operation were emailed to us. Groucho was a patient for two days. In that time, we were impressed by the professional service we were given by ALL staff members and we felt very confident that Groucho was being given the very best treatment. When Groucho came home, the follow up was excellent. If you have an emergency or you just need a vet, I recommend the Kingston Animal Hospital...Groucho is a SuperDogg...and will be performing at your local talent show soon. (We all love our pets, eh?, I will be more careful in the future)

Care, compassion and competence

I have been a client of Kingston Road Animal Hospital since Dr. Samson first opened the practice. Throughout the years, my animal companions have been treated with great care, compassion and competence, both by Dr. Samson and Dr. Mitelman. They have also treated me with great compassion and understanding during some very difficult times. I presently have two dachshunds, Amadeus and Oscar, and one cat, Victoria, all of whom are looked after by these two wonderful doctors. My pets show no fear or hesitation when we go to the clinic and that, I think, indicates that they are treated gently and with kindness when I am not with them. In 2009, Amadeus was losing weight and was diagnosed by Dr. Mitelman as having a blocked parathyroid. This is an unusual condition and one that neither veterinarian had encountered before. However, their skill, knowledge and treatment saved my beloved dog's life and those attributes were demonstrated again when they recently diagnosed Amadeus as having the beginnings of pancreatitis. Their excellent attention averted what would otherwise have resulted in Amadeus becoming very sick. I cannot speak too highly of the doctors and support staff at Kingston Road Animal Hospital and would not hesitate to recommend their services.

I've been taking my dog here for years! Even though there is a vet on every corner these days, I choose to travel clear across the city for the exceptional care and service I receive at Kingston Road Animal Hospital. I initially sought them out because they were one of the original vets in the city offering laser for growth removals. When my previous vet at the same clinic retired, Dr. Mitelman and Dr. Samson didn't miss a beat in the care and well-being of my canine-kid! My little guy is much older and more fragile now and experiencing many of the issues that come with old age. Following a recent surgery he experienced some scary symptoms very late at night and because Kingston Road is also a 24 hour emergency clinic, I was able to talk to a staff vet on the phone who did some brainstorming and called me back within half an hour with some helpful thoughts and suggestions ... putting a panicky parent at ease!

Looking for a great veterinary clinic?

I highly recommend this clinic. I have worked with animal rescue groups, a vet clinic, and run a dog boarding business. Through my experiences with animals I have had to visit many veterinarians. I took a kitten here after going to the vet that one of the rescue groups used. I was not satisfied that this sick kitten had received a proper diagnosis. Dr. Mitelman was able to see me right away, despite not being a regular client. His concern for the sick kitten took priority, which was fortunate. He was able to diagnose the problem, give me some recommendations, and managed to get the kitten to eat. I was impressed with the vet and the clinic and highly recommend their services.

During the past 10 years I have had many opportunities to experience first hand the excellent service provided by Kingston Road Animal Hospital. Drs. Morris Samson and Jonathon Mitelman are definately leaders in their field - they are extremely knowledgeable, remain current of industry trends and prescribe meds with caution. They firmly believe in preventative medicine. Although their medical expertise speaks for itself, in my opinion it is their compassion, empathy and thoughtfulness that makes them exceptional. Every time I visit the clinic I leave knowing I have placed my pet in the most capable of hands and the most caring of environments. They are truly the best.

These Vets are truly the Best!

I have been a long standing client at this veterinarian clinic for the past 30 yrs. I wish to highly recommend them to anyone who finds themselves searching for a really good vet! I have always found them to be highly professional, attentive, caring and compassionate. All my pets have been fortunate to live long happy lives which I attribute to the great care this clinic has always given them. I would never consider going anywhere else. They are now also offering 24 hrs a day 7 days a week emergency care! Their doors are always open, no one could ask for better care then this. I feel very reassured that if I need them, they are there for me! I honestly could not ask for more.
