Its flourishing online presence makes it possible for owner Nina Ber-Donkor to showcase and ship her curation to fans worldwide.
“It’s the kind of place for people who are really into fixing their homes, who want the finishing touches,” says Nina, who opened the shop with her husband Prince Brefo-Donkor in 2014.

Out of all the reviews I cannot believe no one mentions the PLANTS! They are my go to plant store in Toronto. They are healthy and the owner is incredibly knowledgeable about his plants, and they are always placed in such beautiful pots. They tend to all be on the hardier side which is great for me and if you have any issues they will always help after the fact.
I've been here several times and must say...always a wonderful experience. From the product mix, merchandising, to lovely staff...one of my fav places to visit in Leslieville. Will def be back.
I ordered furniture here for over 5 grand - that I still have NOT recieved and its been two years! Nina stopped repliying to my emails when I was done shopping. After struggeling to get my furniture, I simply just wanted a refund. She did not reply so I sent her paypal invoices weekly for what she owed me. She refunded ONE piece and it was also less than what I paid for it. Stay away from this shop!!!
I ordered 15 barware items for my new bar. Nina was great with reaching out to update me on the order when a few items had to arrive separately. Definitely going to shop again!
Easily THE WORST customer service I have EVER experienced. I placed a rather large order for a number of stools and was assured they would arrive within 3 weeks. Called them after 3 weeks and took another 2 wks for them to respond after constant calls and emails from me. Was then told that it would take another 3 wks because they needed to be built. Then flash forward another 3 wks with ZERO communication from Nina and the owners only to be told they needed more time and with every excuse in the book. TWO MONTHS later Black Rooster tells me the chairs have shipped. I call back a cpl days before delivery, they wait again another 2 wks to even respond only for them to tell me they shipped my chairs to another address who ordered the same chairs and "sorry, we can't take them back from another customer". At this stage I was completely blown away. I won't bore anyone with the gritty details, but we NEVER received our order, got harassed when we asked for a return, emails and calls barely got answered. A complete nightmare experience for my wife and I. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves.
