I joined YP today in order to specifically review this merchant.
I wish there was a zero rating, as I would feel very comfortable assigning a zero to this business.
Needing a small shoe repair done and being in a town I was not that familiar with, I was pleased to easily find a Shoe Repair option; village Shoe Repair in Bolton. Directions were very clear and I was pleased to find it (and a parking spot) so quickly.
I entered the store and the saw what I presume to be the owner working at a counter about 10 feet from me, facing me directly.
He was not in the midst of any active work (no tools in his hands) - he was, however, tidying items in front of him.
He did not look up or offer me any sort of greeting. I stood patiently and waited - I wondered if he knew I was there, but a reminder chimed on my phone, so I knew that he could not be mistaking my presence.
I placed my shoes on the counter and tended to the reminder on my phone. Once complete, he still had not walked toward me or acknowledged me in any way.
I waited 3 minutes according to my phone, then felt very uncomfortable. I picked up my shoes and walked out.
As I was preparing to back out, the man had walked to the front of the store and was glaring at me through the window. A very irritated, menacing stare.
I am not sure why he would opt to act in such a bizarre fashion when he works in the service industry.
While I do not live in that town, my siblings do, and I will ensure that they and those in their circle are informed of my experience.
Village Shoe Repair: if you really do not want new customers, keep your door locked.
