Highway Cycle

Very bad rebuild job. Cylinder was full of metal chips, base gasket leaked badly and had to be fixed. Burned oil on the right cylinder. Had to replace the rings as the oil ring was broken off on the end on the right cylinder. This engine came back in worse shape than taking it in in the first place.

These are comments added to the original comments shortly after having a $1700 plus rebuild of my 750 Norton. After assembling the engine back into the frame, I did get it running after clearing all the metal chips from the valve seats and repairing a badly leaking base gasket. The engine burned oil on the right side ever since getting it back. I took it apart and found the oil rings seemed to be worn out compared to the left side. I have ordered a new set of rings to repair the oil burning.
