We were excited when we heard Wasaga Beach was getting a Swiss Chalet. Some of our neighbors went in before we did and told us they did not care for it, that it didn't * feel * like a Swiss Chalet. So we tried it .... we've attended this restaurant perhaps three times and each time we were unsatisfied with our meal.
The main food complaint is the gravy in the hot chicken sandwich. We've been ordering this menu item for decades. The gravy they served us was so dark brown it was almost black. It wasn't the tasty, light brown, yummy chicken gravy we are used to. We complained and were offered a coupon for another dinner but when we redeemed it we found the gravy to be the same. It is vile, absolutely vile!
The atmosphere itself is not typical of a Swiss Chalet and does not have that comfy feel were used to.
We won't be back ... and neither will many of our neighbors who feel exactly as we do.
We have been here several times before. We went to go there for dinner at 8:12 on a wednesday night and it was closed. The sign on the door says 9:00pm. They should stick to their hours posted on the door. Thats the number one rule in restaurant business is be consistent with your hours!!! Definitely will not plan to go for dinner here as we don't know if they will be open. Would rather drive to Collingwood they are open until 11:00pm and they are open until its says they are open.
The food was terrible, 2 of the guests were sick to thier stomach, the staff was annoying and not attentive. I spoke to the owners, 2 brohers same last name, possibly both had no education background, they spoke like 14 year old kids. Extremely rude. The food was still cold inside not cooked properly, it was clearly microwaved, the salad was brown, the fries were not cooked, the beer was warm, terrible experience.
