Best Italian food we’ve ever had! Love the complimentary basket of bread to dip with oil&balsamic. Well priced. We had a very pleasant server.
my husband and I decided to go here for our 1st anniversary hopeful we would get a delicious, authentic Italian meal only to find that the food was not only lukewarm but also tasted like store bought frozen pasta that was microwaved and served! no dish that contains meat should come out within 5 minutes of ordering it if freshly cooked to order! all-in-all horrible, microwaved food, horrible experience and would never go back there again! not only was our food unsatisfactory, but all within about a10 minute time period there were 3 dishes sent back due to being served cold!
Very good Italian food. Very hospitable and Servi e is good. Recommend it
Great food, really fresh italian cuisine, reasonable prices and authentic atmosphere. Went with my 2 kids, both 3 and under. Kids menu was available and they seemed to seat the 'adult' tables at the other end.....well thought out for all involved!
My boyfriend and I visited Niagara Falls for a romatic getaway from our hometown, and ended up dining at Mama Mia`s for dinner. When we arrived at the restaurant, there were about 7 or 8 other tables, however the servers had nicely spaced out all of the guests so it seemed to be very private for each table. My boyfriend and I were greeted by our server, who took our drink order and made some suggestions off the menu, as there are a lot of choices! We both ended up ordering combination plates, with two different kinds of pasta on each. We also ordered some appetizers, which were delivered fairly quickly and came out hot and fresh. Our food was delicious! We definitely had enough to share, so each of us were able to taste 4 different dishes. We would have loved to have dessert but we were way too full from dinner to even try any! We had a few drinks with dinner - my boyfriend drank Jack and Cokes, and I tried a Long Island Ice Tea (normally a delicious drink, but wasn`t my favourite that night!) so I switched to Jack as well. We have spoken a few times about going back to Mama Mia`s and we will definitely return. I would recommend going on a night where it may be a bit slower, as this restaurant is located in a tourist area and can be very busy during the warm months!
I raised the prices a bit compared to menu items as the restaurant has no parking and you must pay for parking to eat there. This restaurant has been around since 1958 and we decided to try it as locals who have never been there before. Mama Mia's was a nice change. It is in the tourist area so that may explain slightly higher prices, and why it is so busy at supper time. The food was very good as was the service. I didn't find the atmosphere to be dated. It was actually quite creative with a wine cellar look that exuded a Mediterranean ambiance in keeping with the little Italian restaurant. It is not fine dining (haute cuisine), but not a chain restaurant either. Mama Mia's is a nice addition to the tourist area. The bread was freshly baked. The restrooms are conveniently on the main floor for those with older family members or disabled. Seating is close together likely to accommodate the large crowd at dinner. As for parking at the casino, that is fine only if no one in your party has difficulty walking that far. Otherwise, I would park in behind the restaurant on Ellen Avenue (pay by the hour). There is a passage way to cut through to Victoria Avenue so you need not go all the way around the block. Alternatively, if visiting Clifton Hill too, opt for one of the all day parking lots for 5 dollars on Ellen Ave. Very close to the top of Clifton Hill. I would expect reservations would be a good idea for a slightly larger group (more than four) or for anyone on any holidays weekends (Canadian or US).
very busy place at suppertime, one block from casino niagara, best to park at casino + walk, got seated as a single immediately on a busy night, spaghetti + one meatball took only 5 minutes to arrive at my table, large bowl of spaghetti, one large meatball is adequate + filling, all good flavour, served piping hot, just very good spaghetti + meatball.................. two meat balls would really put this meal over the top, which I somewhat agree with other reviewers, decor is very dated, you would go here for the good food + good service + good value, not for the fine dining experience, as you will not find any bling a good place to eat instead of at the casino, highly recommend for simple good tasty Italian.............enjoy
