Hands down the BEST Indian joint I have tried... butter chicken was jam packed full of flaviour and had the perfect amount of spice and spices (not Americanized at all). The naan bread is hand made fresh to order and very tasty! If you love Indian or are wanting to give it a try i definitely recmend this place.
I love Indian food and was not disappointed when I visited India Time in Newmarket. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was quick, courteous, very personable and friendly. I will definitely return.
Worst Indian food I have ever had! I am a 63 year old Brit and I consider myself an "connoisseur" when it comes to Indian food. I have eaten in Indian restaurants in Toronto and Glasgow, Scotland etc. This place takes the cake when it comes to low ratings from me! The samosas ans curried chicken were awful! When I complained, the owner just shrugged and handed us the bill! I don't know how this place stays in business!
Re price vs menu? Absolutely still a problem - they have an obligation to inform you ahead of time. And really, to raise prices by $2 per item? There is no good reason for that. The Pakora and naan were fantastic, chicken curry should have gone to the garbage - terrible re taste and quality of meat. I would have left NO TIP but my husband wouldn't even let me complain - however, our retaliation is to never go there again, and advise everyone else to stay away. Unless you only want pakoras and naan - and don't mind being cheated on prices
We went there for dinner and the place was almost empty . We sat down and ordered coffee then i excused myself to use the restroom and walked by the kitchen . Looking into the kitchen i could see counters with food that had not been put away (chicken) and many different bowls pans and utensils strewn about . It didnt look like the kitchen equiptment or counters had seen a cleaning cloth in a some time and matched the floor that looked like it had not seen a mop lately . Returning to my seat i suggested to my dinner companion that we try some where else . We paid for our coffees and left . Did i do a thorough inspection of their kitchen ? NO i did a 5 second visual and i did not like what i saw .
Maybe the food and the service are good but we never got that far .

well i went there thinking the food would be good but it tasted bad, there was a guy sleeping on the job and they kept asking us it the food was good. they also just came up to us for no reason and started smiling then walked away NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO THERE
I have tried their Buffet and would agree with the person who stated the buffet was not good. This occasion my friend and I went on the long weekend Monday for dinner. The service was horrible the food was not at all good. In fact I refused to pay for the chicken since it was dried out! However I have gone back since where the food and service have been real good. I plan on going back!
I went there to check it out thinking that it can't be that bad and it is close to my house. Whoever greeted us didn't look too friendly. There was one waiter, we waited forever for our food, the waiter seemed rushed, customer service was absolutely horrible... the food wasn't that great (i couldn't eat it) and i would not recommend this place to anyone.
Well, my Friend dragged me to this place after begging me for a week, to try something new. And guess what? I found out that I hate Indian Food! Service was great, but the waiters were always asking us if the food was good, but one day, maybe a week after I ate there, I was walking by India Time, and I looked into the window to see a waitor literally SLEEPING on the job. I will probably come back yo this restaurant if I want to surprise my little brother for his birthday for lunch, so ya, this place isn't bad if you like Indian food.
We get take out almost weekly here. I've had a lot of Indian food, both in Toronto and in London, England. India Time compares favourably - decent food and a friendly staff.
One of my all time favorite restaunts. To my tastes, it serves better Indian food than restaurants downtown Toronto. If I'm in Newmarket I can't escape going there for dinner. Thank goodness it's not closer to home or I'd never eat anywhere else. And no, I don't know the owners :)
Great food and great service! I appreciate not being bothered every 5 minutes by servers, and I found that the staff at India Time found perfect timing in regards to this.
I recommend this restaurant to anyone!
A great restaurant. Don't understand why other people don't like it, the food is great and the service is fine. I have never had a problem with anyone there. I have been there a number of times and enjoy it every time.
